Getting started with EV Charging

 Charging your EV doesn’t have to be complicated. This quick guide will help you get started and stay charged for every journey. Charging fits seamlessly into your routine and lets you power up in as little as 1 hour, right when you need it. Most drivers only need to get a full charge once every 5-6 days.  

 

Charger Types:

EV chargers come in two main types: AC (Standard) and DC (Fast)

AC

Standard Chargers

  • Ideal for when your car is already parked for longer periods, for example overnight at home or at work while working
  • A full charge typically takes 6–8 hours
DC charger

Fast Chargers

  • Perfect for quick top-ups when you’re on the move, for example, when running errands
  • or meal breaks
  • A full charge typically takes about 1 hour

Is EV charging complicated?


Not at all. Charging an EV is as easy as plugging in your phone. Simply plug in, scan the QR code, and start charging. It’s that easy, even for first-timers.

 

 

Are there enough EV chargers in Singapore?


Yes, and more are coming. There are already plenty of EV chargers across Singapore, and the network is expanding quickly. Whether you’re at a mall, HDB, or office, you’ll find a charger nearby. Find your chargers here.

 

 

Does EV charging take forever?


Need a quick top-up? Use a fast charger. Prefer to charge overnight? A standard charger at home or work might suit you best. Charging can be flexible to fit your schedule.

 

 

Are EV chargers safe to use?


 Public chargers in Singapore are regulated and approved for use. They’re built with safety protections including auto shut-off, secure cables, and waterproof designs.
